Greenport, NY – AgroCouncil presents the Cherry Blossom Festival Petal Tour in the Village of Greenport throughout the months of May and June 2021. Connect with nature, explore the walking Village of Greenport and support small businesses in Greenport; a designated an official Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
Venture on a self-guided walking tour of the village’s 300+ cherry blossom trees and indulge in blossom-themed refreshments and gifts offered by participating local businesses. The bloom spans parts of May and June depending on the species of the trees and the weather. Free maps will be available at all participating businesses as well as the AgroCouncil information center in the lobby of the Greenporter Hotel at 326 Front Street.
Support Village Beautification: Every year Greenport Village BID and its various committees fund and execute the elaborate lighting of the Village for Christmas. At the onset of spring, the BID also funds and places the flower boxes throughout the Village.
Most recently Greenport Village BID spearheaded the building and placement of parklets and collaborated with the Greenport Village Tree Committee to plant 13 new Cherry Blossom trees throughout the Village. The parklets and the new trees provided a beautiful and safe outdoor space for residents and visitors that enabled the support of local businesses throughout the pandemic.
