About Us

image_pdfimage_print

The AgroCouncil (AC) is an agricultural advocacy group that promotes awareness and sustainability in farming  communities through education and job training. We host educational seminars in our training center and publish and distribute maps and other educational materials in our visitors’ center.

Through first-hand contact with farmers and purveyors, participants can achieve their objectives of discovery, adventure, and understanding in an agricultural setting.

The AgroCouncil provides local residents,  tourists and corporate groups with easy and regular access to a visitation and training center that is open year-round. The visitors’ center provides brochures, maps, and trained staff to assist guests in experiences with nature with activities ranging from working on a farm for the day, visiting a craft beverage operation, to providing details on aquaculture excursions or fishing charters.

Whether you participate as an observer, farmhand-extern or corporate sponsor, your participation will have a lasting impact on the preservation of our agricultural regions.

Join us for our kick-off event of the year; Greenport’s Cherry Blossom Festival Petal Tour. Support the restaurants that support our farms and vineyards and enjoy the 300+ cherry blossom trees planted throughout the Village of Greenport. $75 for food or retail vendors to be listed on the map and $425 for Corporate Sponsorshsip opportunities. Listing includes placement on the map, a supply of maps, social media campaign and press coverage. These maps will also be distributed at the Village of Greenport BID booth at the New York Times Travel Show.
