ORIENT
1. Orient Point County Park

The 48-acre park at the tip of Southold Town has a mile-long beach and ½ mile hiking trail. Bird watching, surf-casting and great views of Long Island Sound. Parking is located on the North Side of Route 25.
2. Orient Beach State Park

45,000 feet of frontage on Gardiner’s Bay and a rare maritime forest with red cedar, blackjack oak trees, and prickly-pear cactus. Visitors can swim, picnic, play ball, go hiking or biking, or walk a nature trail.
EAST MARION
3. Truman Beach

Long, rocky beach with North Shore views of Connecticut from a distance. Great views to watch the sunrise or set. No lifeguards or restrooms available.
4. Dam Pond Maritime Reserve

The 36-acre parcel, the preserve encompasses a small, protected bay, maritime shrubland, grasslands, tidal flats, saltwater marshes and mature woodlands. The trail is 1.2 miles long.
GREENPORT
5. North Fork Audubon Society/Inlet Pond County Park

A 55-acre park with 1.6 miles of trails leading to Inlet Pond and Long Island Sound. The North Fork Audubon has a visitor’s center and offers nature programs.
6. Norman Klipp Park Beach/Gull Pond
Manhasset Ave
Overlooking the Bay, explore the waters through snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, and canoeing. Small fishing pier, restrooms and picnic area with grills, benches and a playground for children.
7. Fifth Street Beach And Park
Fifth St
A small beach overlooking the Peconic Bay. Very popular with families because of the calm water, a playground area, and a grassy picnic area.
Closest beach to the hotel but tends to be very crowded.
8. Arshamomaque Preserve
1105 Chapel Ln
120-acre preserve with 1.3 miles of nature trails that wander through mature woodlands, freshwater wetlands, and open fields.
SOUTHOLD
9. Southold Town Beach

Overlooking Long Island Sound, this is one of the most popular beaches in Southold Town. Great views of the water, incredible sunrises, and sunsets, covered pavilion overlooking the water, swing set, and a lifeguard on duty.
10. Arshamomaque Pond Preserve

54-acre wooded preserve with several trails through the mature woodlands, by vernal ponds and along the saltwater wetlands of Arshamomaque Pond.
11. McCabe’s Beach
North Sea Dr
Overlooking Long Island Sound, with a lifeguard on duty, and a roped-off swimming area, picnic area, and restrooms. Great location for water activities including fishing and kayaking or canoeing.
12. Kenney’s Beach
Kenney’s Rd
Overlooking Long Island Sound, wide sandy beach with a lifeguard on duty and public restrooms. Great place to relax for the day and watch the sunset.
13. Founders Landing Park Beach

Overlooking Southold Bay with picnic tables, grills, swings and playground equipment, bathrooms and lifeguard on duty, with a roped off swimming area.
Do not park in the parking lot; Permit is for street parking only.
14. Goose Creek Beach
North Bayview Rd
Overlooking Southold Bay, great for kayaking and canoeing. Lifeguard on duty, restrooms, picnic tables, grills and a playground.
15. Cedar Beach County Park
3690 Cedar Beach Rd
A 68-acre park with over 2,800 feet on Shelter Island Sound. The park provides the visitor with great views of the mudflats, sandbars, and the saltwater marshes of Cedar Beach Harbor.
PECONIC
16. Goldsmith Inlet Country Park & Beach
1585 Soundview Ave
The 35-acre parcel, with ½ mile trail leading to the 1,500 foot stretch of Long Island Sound. Mature woodlands, tidal wetlands, and Goldsmith Inlet Pond. The beach is adjacent to the inlet and pond, ideal for boogie-boarding, kayaking, and canoeing.

17. Nassau Point Beach

Causeway beach on the Peconic Bay with a basketball court, playground, picnic area with grills and benches. Restroom facilities available, roped off swimming area, a lifeguard on duty.
18. Pequash Avenue Beach

Park and beach with swings, slides, playground equipment, benches, picnic tables, grills, and a basketball court. Restrooms available and a lifeguard on duty with roped off swimming area.
19. Downs Farm Preserve

A 51-acre wooded parcel that is the site of Ft. Corchaug, a Native American fort, listed on the National Park Register of Historic Places. Miles of trails, farmland and the tidal wetland of Downs Creek.
NEW SUFFOLK
20. New Suffolk Beach
Jackson St
Lining 200 feet of Peconic Bay. Participate in fishing, jet and water skiing, motor boating, sailing, canoeing, and kayaking. A picnic area is equipped with grills and a lifeguard is on duty.
MATTITUCK
21. Mattituck Breakwater Beach
Breakwater Rd
Frequented by fisherman, families and beach volleyball lovers. Large roped off swimming section, playground area, and picnic tables. Lifeguard on duty and restrooms available.
22. Mill Road Preserve

The 25-acre parcel, staring off by winding through 8 acres of grasslands/shrublands, then into 17-acres of mature woodlands.
23. Veterans Memorial Park

Peconic Bayfront park with pavilions buildings, picnic area, playground, bocce ball, and shuffleboard courts. Lifeguard on duty.
LAUREL
24. Laurel Lake Preserve
5142 Route 25
495-acres of persevered land. The existing nature trail is 2.1 miles long, is marked with green arrows and wanders through mature woodlands, grasslands, and shrublands, by vernal ponds, freshwater swamps, and overlooks Laurel Lake.
